This Artwork is much better than the actually Star Wars movie. This is Simply stupendous!!
What a Great Post' I never knew who Ralph was until now.
These Artistic qualities define that era' And its something we should all appreciate becuase all this is lost today in Modern Arts'
I love that C3PO looks like the female robot from Metropolis
I have an original set of many of these paintings from the Return of the Jedi proudly hanging in my game room.
He shall be missed!
This artwork actually gave me goosebumps. What a talented man.
What a loss. His original design work for Battlestar Galactica (not featured here) was so beautiful it actually got me to see it. I will never completely forgive him. He was a master and I am in his debt.
A true master. McQuarrie's conceptual paintings for the original Battlestar Gallactica were so beautiful that I actually watched the pilot. I forgive you Ralph, you're talent was simply too great. Farewell to a giant, you will be remembered.

These are absolutely mindblowing!
Is it possible to download the whole set here??
Great artwork. A shame it was impossible to view it on my iphone. Your mobile theme for your blog doesn't allow the photos to resize... and when trying to swipe left-right to view the rest, it jumps to another post? What's that about? Just awful...
Thank you for this great overview of Ralph`s fantastic concept work - and large images too :)
A big loss to us all - sadly missed.
I'm pretty sure of that first one of the landing bay is a matte painting done by Michael Pangrazio (sp?) at ILM for Return of the Jedi.
I found your blog website on google and check just a few of your early posts. Continue to keep up the excellent operate.

I read or heard that Mr. McQuarrie's drawings made it possible for Star Wars to be made.
Thanks goodness for Mr. McQ! :-)
I love these so much...Artistic and beautiful, and yet they look so functional. Exactly what sci fi should be! He will be greatly missed indeed.
"May the Force be with You". My sincere thanks for all you gave to us.
