Holy hell, you just took me way back... I first saw Chris Moore's work on the Dream Makers compilation released by Paper Tiger. Out of all the artists displayed in that book, Chris definitely took the cake for the most technical illustrations. Ive had that book since 1989 and even this day I still look at his work and cant begin to fathom how insane that guy's skills are. Man, he even makes some of the more technical digital illustrators today look bad... and they have an "undo" button.

Hell yeah, Chris Moore owns.

I have to agree with you. The actual design of the ships might be showing a little bit of age but the composition, color work and the render quality are unbelievable and still hold up today.

There is a lot of love that went in to this work for sure.

Thanks Andrew... I've stumbled upon your blog before searching for content. There is a picture in one of my folders from it... Maybe I'll post it this week.

Nice terrain work there.

i've been following your site for a few weeks now, and i'm loving it. but those animated zooming gifs are kinda annoying.
nevertheless, keep it up!

Thanks for the positive feedback. Not feeling the zoom huh? Maybe I'll cut down on it.

This whole conceptships layout is sort of a concept blog in itself. Kind of an evolving experiment with Flash and CSS.

Maybe coding a zoom button on to the image itself so one can choose which of the two images to view?

Thanks for supporting conceptships!
