If the ship is accelerating constantly in one direction they have a fore and aft orientation so the “floor” is the back of the ship. If the ship is stationary it spins for gravity so the “floor” is oriented toward the hull. The rooms seem to have different sets of retractable furniture and tables and chairs and things just fold into the walls when not needed. Would the rooms all have to be cubes to make this work? They would have to have ladders and elevaters going in multiple directions to get around in the ship. A hallway when the ship is spinning would turn into a stairwell or elevator shaft when the ship was travveling in a straight line.

Also they talk about gun turrets, but how would they work if the ship spins sometimes? Maybe the turrets are stationary while the rest of the ship spins? How would you orient turrets so they sould shoot in every direction if need be?

They also seem to be used to working in freefall, so they have nets to hold things down when the ship is not moving or spinning.

Magical sci-fi artificial gravity makes things so much easier to conceptualize…

I wonder how an artist would draw a ship as described above? A picture would be worth a thousand words.Paulhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11340569725204433718noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3045488734527759793.post-38834372816220405072013-02-07T17:57:07.818-07:002013-02-07T17:57:07.818-07:00I like how this one ship is shown in various locat...I like how this one ship is shown in various locations, it tells a lot about the type of ship it is and what it does while showing off the angles of the ship itself. Other artists could take a page from mechaonda's book on this front.Lord Auronhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03388435231059837475noreply@blogger.com
